During our 13-year history, Slingshot has helped strengthen Jewish life by playing an important role in the prioritization of Jewish innovation. Our success would not have been possible without your sustained partnership! Because you are a valued stakeholder of Slingshot, we want you to be the first to know about some exciting changes to our work.
As we celebrate our Bat Mitzvah year on the heels of a rigorous strategic planning process, we are proud to share that we are entering a new phase. Slingshot originally spotlighted innovation to encourage the emergence of new ideas in the Jewish world. Now, with the abundance of organizations offering innovative opportunities for engaging in Jewish life, our focus shifts to preparing a generation of philanthropic leaders who can support and help shape these efforts.
As the world continues to shift, emerging young Jewish leaders are changing the ways we think, act, and give. To that end, Slingshot will focus on engaging Jewish young philanthropists through leadership trainings, educational initiatives, and skills-building opportunities. We will continue to shine a spotlight on Jewish innovation while enabling young philanthropists in the Jewish community to be full partners in shaping a better future and leading from a place of strength—as funders, board members, and innovators. Our goal is to continue to advance Jewish life as a whole through the development of these future leaders.
With this in mind, this year’s Slingshot Guide, which will launch on June 4th, will be the last printed guide of its kind. Rest assured, all of the information in every guide will live in perpetuity on Slingshot’s website. And, moving forward, we will continue to highlight and support innovative projects, adapting our work to reflect our new priorities.
As we transition from creating a guide for funders to guiding future philanthropists, we do so with humility and confidence that this next phase of Slingshot will continue to have a deep, meaningful, and lasting impact on Jewish life.
With your continued partnership, we look forward to piloting a series of new educational, programmatic, and leadership development initiatives. Together we will empower and activate young philanthropists in making a game-changing impact on Jewish life for years to come.
On behalf of the board and staff of Slingshot, we thank you for your dedication and partnership and invite you to reach out with any questions you have. Stay tuned for more information about our new initiatives over the coming months!
